It is located not far from the Eiffel Tower and the Hotel des Invalides, built in 1670 by Louis XIV to provide housing for 4,000 disabled veterans. Also close by is the military school that faces the Champs de Mars, named after the mythological Roman god of war. Less than a 10-minute walk away is the Montparnasse district with its many shops, restaurants, cinemas and the famous skyscraper, Maine Tower.
